STAFF ACTIVITIES​

What a magnificent day it was when NORDIC TOURS A/S celebrated its 25th anniversary on Friday, April 4th, 2025, with a reception for all its employees, selected partners, former employees and board members. The day was accompanied by live music, light meals and a cool glass of wine! The atmosphere was festive and the conversation was lively. As Hanne, the founder of Nordic Tours, said during her speech, “All of you who are present today have been part of our journey in one way or another, so this is as much your anniversary!”

Our annual event, rich in tradition, is the DHL Run in August. For the event, we have our very own tent with many of our employees participating in running and walking teams – and not the least, we have our cheering team. A pleasant evening for everyone in the beautiful Marselis forests and the Bay of Aarhus. The evening concludes with an impressive firework show! In addition, many of our employees are passionate about running and like to participate in races at home and abroad, e.g. Royal Run or half and full marathons.

In September 2024, we filled a bus with happy employees who spent a Sunday in Copenhagen for site inspections and activities – Food Walk, Hello Captain, guided bike tour, etc. The evening was spent with “Italian for beginners”, creating the most delicious menu as a team: bruschetta, pizza bianco, saltimbocca and tiramisu. The day after was spent visiting Skovtårnet in Camp Adventure! Wonderful weekend.

It turned out to be a fantastic evening at PWC in Aarhus on November 6th 2024. Hanne, the founder of Nordic Tours, was nominated as one of the 3 finalists for Owner of the Year in Eastern Jutland – and she won the award! Sandie, Birthe, Lone, Marianne, Brian and Morten were there to celebrate the well-deserved award with Hanne. The award happened in collaboration with PWC, Dansk Erhverv, JP Finans and Nykredit. The following morning we had a champagne celebration at the office and a great, warm welcome from everyone!

Our employees get frequently surprised and pampered – especially on top of a great season. For the first time ever, the company invited everyone to a beautiful day at a music festival in the forests of Skanderborg, Smukfest. Everyone was treated to drinks and dinner and could choose from a huge selection of the biggest Danish and foreign artists . It’s nice having fun together – even if it’s raining!

A joyful summer party on the Aarhus River – located right across the office. The celebrations began with a sailing competition, including challenging and creative team tasks, followed by a delicious buffet, games and singing and dancing!

Amongst one of our traditions throughout many years is the Nordic Tours “Pancake Day” – originally from Great Britain. To the delight of the entire office, we had our English colleagues preparing pancakes, serving them freshly made. In most recent years, we have hired “Pandekagekompagniet” (translated: The Pancake Company) preparing the most sumptuous lunch and dessert pancakes – an all you can eat pancake buffet. What a lovely smell spreading across the office. We love pancakes and look forward to this tasty event every year!

We have a rather sweet tooth at Nordic Tours. Whenever it’s someone’s birthday, and especially when the dentist reports zero cavities, there will be served homemade pastries, bread or freshly baked buns in our “Café Moose” – the common area. This picture is showing the birthday celebration of three employees who, together, set up a genuine South Jutland coffe table – that’s Danish “hygge”!

As a proud sponsor of the local sailor, Frederik Fomsgaard Bruun, we had the opportunity to try sailing ourselves. Frederik has participated with great success in the European Youth competitions with hopes for participating in the Olympics in Paris 2024. The Nordic Tours employees were taken on a test sail by Frederik in the area around Aarhus’ new international sailing center – a fantastic afternoon with high spirits!

In the midst of our high season on a beautiful summer day, Nordic Tours arranged a very tasty surprise for all its employees. In order to celebrate the company’s all-time high that very year, Nordic Tours hired an ice cream truck from the local company Mammis Gelato, serving the most delicious Italian ice cream. Can you name a better way to celebrate an all-time high?

Marketing creates awareness. In collaboration with Destination Fyn, we spent 4 weeks on the road throughout Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium and France in a specially equipped van with freezers and refrigerators. Within four weeks, we visited selected B2B customers, presented Funen and Scandinavia all while setting up a beautifully decorated candle light cake buffet with traditional Danish pastries.

Our annual Christmas party, our summer parties, study trips for the entire team and many other activities. The management of NORDIC TOURS takes good care of all employees. The goal is for us to have fun and enjoy ourselves together. It is the best way to retain our fantastic team and attract the best new colleagues.
