Day 1: Oslo
Arrive in the vibrant Norwegian capital of Oslo. Overnight stay in the Oslo area.
Day 2: Oslo – Kinsarvik (385 km)
Drive through Hallingdal and cross the impressive Hardangervidda National Park on your way to Geilo. Take a break at Fossli to see the spectacular Vøringfoss waterfall, where the water plunges 182 metres from mountain plateau to valley floor. Continue through the narrow Måbø valley down to Kinsarvik, situated at the edge of the Hardangerfjord where it meets Eidfjord and Sørfjord. Stay 3 nights in Kinsarvik.
Days 3 & 4: Kinsarvik/Hardangerfjord
Enjoy 2 full days exploring this fantastic and picturesque area. Autumn in Hardanger is the time when apples are harvested, so be sure to visit one of the many apple orchards. An excursion to Hardangervidda Naturcenter offers a chance to experience the Norwegian culture and wildlife in this area. Or perhaps visit the Sima power plant to learn how the Norwegians turn water into energy. A full day excursion to the harbour town of Bergen is another enticing option. Here you can wander the Hanseatic quarter of Bryggen and the famous fish market or take the funicular up the Fløyen mountain to get a magnificent view of the city.
Day 5: Kinsarvik – Oslo (395 km)
Take your leave of Kinsarvik along Sørfjord to Låtefossen – home of the twin waterfalls. Cross Haukeli mountain plateau via one of the most beautiful mountain roads in Norway. Continue through the famous Telemark region – the cradle of Norwegian skiing. In Heddal you will also find the largest stave church in Norway. This wooden church is approximately 800 years old and has been a popular tourist attraction for over 200 years. Overnight stay in Oslo.
Day 6: Oslo/Departure
Spend some time sightseeing in this beautiful Scandinavian capital before returning home.
