Day 1: Warsaw
Arrive in Poland for an overnight in Warsaw with its contrasting old and new towns.
Day 2: Warsaw – Vilnius (460 km)
Today travel to Lithuania and its enchanting capital city of Vilnius with the oldest university and largest midieval town in Eastern Europe. The Old Town is the historical centre of Vilnius. The Gate of Dawn and the Gediminas Tower with its fantastic views are among its most beautiful sights. Overnight stay in Vilnius.
Day 3: Vilnius – Klaipeda (312 km)
Travel through Kaunas to Klaipeda, the third largest city in Lithuania and the undisputed economic and cultural centre of western Lithuania. Noteworthy sights include the Arch, the largest granite monument in the country, the sailing ship, Meridianas, once a training ship for the maritime school, the sculpture park and the Simon-Dach Fountain in the Old Town. In the afternoon, there is opportunity for an excursion to the Curonian Spit, where you will find the highest dunes in Europe, long sandy beaches and romantic fishing villages. Overnight stay in Klaipeda.
Day 4: Klaipeda – Riga (310 km)
We recommend the trip to Siauliai, where the famous “Hill of Crosses” is located – a moving story and an image you will never forget. Then continue on to Riga with a possible detour to the magnificent Rundale Castle. Riga’s midieval Old Town is a designated UNESCO World Heritage site. There are many attractions centred around its town hall square, such as the Statue of Roland and St. Peter’s Church. The New Town is particularly known for its Art Nouveau-style architecture. Overnight stay in Riga.
Day 5: Riga – Klaipeda (310 km)
Today you bid farewell to the Baltics. Travel to Klaipeda to embark on the DDFDS overnight ferry bound for mainland Europe.
Day 6: Departure
Return journey home from Kiel.
